KUCHING: A total of 64 students under the Pantai Damai state constituency, who successfully pursued their studies at local and private universities, received incentives from its assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi recently.
According to Dr Abdul Rahman, the incentives would be given to students every time their colleges or universities start their new session.
“I am very proud of the achievements of the students because over the past five or six years, the number of students (under the Pantai Damai state constituency) pursuing studies at public or private institutions of higher learning in and outside the country is increasing.
“Hopefully, more students will succeed in furthering their studies to a higher level in our efforts to produce as many intelligent people as possible among young people by focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects,” he said when met by our reporter after presenting the incentives at Pantai Damai Service Centre in Jalan Haji Taha here, on Wednesday (Jan 19).
Our reporter interviewed some of the students who received the incentive.

I am thankful to have managed to get this incentive. I will use it mainly for photocopying purposes (notes or reference books) and mobile reloads as at the moment, the classes are still conducted online.

Thank you to Pantai Damai Service Centre for providing this assistance. I will use this incentive for work related to my learning.
I hope that this assistance can be continued as it is able to ease the financial burden of the students.

I am so grateful and happy to receive this assistance. For me, incentives like these are able to boost students’ motivation and help us buy items related to our learning as well as able to ease our financial burden.
