SERIAN: Youth organisation Saberkas is inclusive in reaching out to communities in need of help.
Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Syed Aman Ghazali said this commitment will continue to be key to the success of the organisation which has turned 50.
“Up to this point, there is definitely a lot of travel, experience and contributions that have been given and therefore, Saberkas will continue our agenda consistently in order to benefit all society.
“We want Saberkas to be known more closely and create a community that is concerned about the welfare of other communities in this state,” said Sharifah Hasidah.
She was speaking at the Saberkas Prihatin Khas programme in conjunction with the Saberkas Golden Jubilee Celebration at the Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PPDK) here, today (Feb 1).
Sharifah Hasidah said PPDK Serian was the first centre selected for this year in channeling donations according to the centre’s needs.
“The Saberkas Prihatin Khas programme will continue to three other locations which will involve participation in the southern zone, central zone and also the northern zone.
“We expect that this programme will be able to create a culture of charity, not only through the Saberkas platform, but can be implemented either through local organisations or clubs, or individuals,” she said.
Sharidah Hasidah who is Saberkas vice president said the Saberkas Prihatin Khas programme was organised in 2021 with as many as 52 programmes, while last year as many as 40 programmes were implemented with a grant of RM 5,000 to each Saberkas branch.
In the programme, PPDK Serian received donations in the form of 45-inch televisions, laptops and relief funds while Sharifah Hasidah also made a personal donation of RM5,000.
