KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s effective financial strategies have propelled Sarawak’s development across all sectors in recent years, resulting in significant additional revenue for the state.

According to Chief Political Secretary to the Premier, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, the state government has successfully addressed numerous long-standing issues raised by elected representatives in Sarawak.

“During the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, we witnessed Honourable Members celebrating the achievements in resolving their respective constituencies’ issues,” Fazzrudin said.

“This remarkable progress became possible due to Sarawak’s substantial income of RM11.9 billion, the highest in Malaysia, which was attained under the Premier’s leadership by exploring new avenues in the green technology sector.”

He said this after officiating at the Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri Kejiranan Mesra (KJM) event at Surau Darul Rahman Taman Won today.

Fazzrudin, who is also Tupong assemblyman, highlighted that the state’s revenue had been allocated to every area in Sarawak for development purposes, as well as to support various assistance programs and initiatives.

“This has tremendously benefited the people of Sarawak. The funds have been allocated not only to Tupong or the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency but to all 82 state constituencies,” he added.

He further clarified that funding distribution was based on each area’s specific needs and the priority of the implemented projects. Areas such as Miri, Bintulu, Kapit, Kuching, and others have received varying allocations based on their requirements.

“Since assuming office, the Premier has diligently sought new methods to develop Sarawak, resulting in the successful acquisition of additional income. The positive impact of these endeavours is felt throughout the state,” Fazzrudin concluded.

Also present at the event were Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan, KJM Taman Won chairman Ibrahim Jamain, and Surau Darul Rahman management committee chairman Datuk Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir.
