NEW DELHI: Indian billionaire Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, the patriarch of the Hinduja Group, died on Wednesday in London at the age of 87.

Srichand, the eldest of the four Hinduja brothers widely known as SP, was in the news in recent months due to a business feud in a British court with his younger brother Gopichand, 83.

The Hindujas are involved in sectors such as automotive, banking, information technology, chemicals, infrastructure and healthcare, and employ 200,000 in India and abroad.

They topped Britain’s Sunday Times Rich List for a fourth time in 2022, with a net worth of more than 28 billion pounds (RM123.39 billion last year).

Srichand is survived by his daughters Vinoo and Shanu. – BERNAMA
