MUKAH: The police here are urging the individual/s involved in a hit-and-run accident at KM85, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu last Monday around 11am, which resulted in the death of an elderly woman, to surrender himself or herself at the police station here.
The victim identified as Sati Anak Kumpan,86, died on the spot due to serious head and body injuries.
Mukah District Police chief, DSP Jimmy Panyau said they are appealing to the individual involved in the accident to come forward before stern action is taken against the individual.
Thus far, no one has come forward and the police are trying to trace the individual involved in the accident.
“This case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act,1987,” he said.
Those who have information on the accident are urged to contact the nearest police station or Mukah Police Station at tel: 084-871222 to help them in their probe.
