SIBU: The indoor stadium here opened its doors to the public to undergo Covid-19 tests at 9am, Tuesday (Jan 12).
Members of the public converged on the premises, seizing the opportunity provided by the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee praised Sibu folk for their cooperation in coming forward to undergo tests.
“The important part after taking the swab test is that they quarantine themselves until the results are obtained.
“Let us pray that our frontliners are protected and are given strength to go through these challenging days in their career,” he said.
Dr Annuar, who is also Assistant Education, Science and Technological Research Minister, is currently undergoing mandatory quarantine at a hotel here after returning from Kuala Lumpur last week.
“So far, 2,104 people in Sibu have undergone the swab tests, not including those who took the tests at Sibu Indoor Stadium this morning.
“Deep in our hearts, we are truly saddened by the situation that is plaguing Sibu,” he said, while praying for Sibu to get through this hard time.
