BINTULU: Bintulu has the potential to also become an educational hub besides being an industrial town.

According to the Premier’s Political Secretary, Angelie Stephen Raja, the town encompasses diverse sectors such as oil and gas, shipping, energy, bio-industry, heavy metals, palm oil, timber, and healthcare.

And significantly, the inaugural Palliative Care Conference 2023 is also being held here.

“This initiative highlights that Bintulu is not just an industrial town but can also serve as an educational hub,” she said when officiating at the conference here on Friday (Sept 22).

The two-day conference was attended by 150 participants from various private agencies, government bodies, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The conference, themed ‘New Insights on Improving Quality Palliative Care,’ focused on many crucial areas in delivering palliative care to patients in the modern technological era.

Along with providing the best platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among participants.

In light of this, Angelie called on the public to utilise this platform to promote public education and encourage open conversations about palliative care.
