BAU: An infant was among three individuals who survived a crash at Jalan Sungai Nurin, Simpang Bogak near here yesterday.
A state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the department received a distress call at 11.37am pertaining to a head-on-collision between a sedan car and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle belonging to a state department.
Firefighters from the Bau fire station were deployed. The impact of the collision caused the driver of the sedan car to be pinned in his seat and firefighters had to extricate him from the wreckage. The driver suffered injuries to his legs.
The driver’s wife and the baby managed to exit the vehicle, assisted by members of the public. All the victims were given first aid before they were brought to Bau Hospital for further treatment.
The four individuals in the 4WD vehicle were unharmed. The operation ended at 12.20pm. Both vehicles were badly damage.
