KUCHING: It was an evening of glitz and glamour at the Sarawak Information Department (JaPen) Appreciation Nite here when over 250 guests gathered to celebrate the department’s achievements.
Clad in 1920s Gatsby-themed attire, Wednesday’s evening saw a total of 12 excellence service awards presented to staff for their outstanding work
performance.
The dinner was also held to recognise and award nine winners who participated in a cleaning competition organised by the department held in conjunction with the National Month
celebration in August.
Showing off their talent, the staff who participated in a singing competition also captivated guests.
Sarawak Information Department director Abang Sardon Abang Hashim expressed his gratitude to staff for their valuable services through the years.
He said it was important to organise such an event as recognition of the staff’s hard work and service.
“I hope this will motivate all department staff to continue to serve our community.”
Present during the event were Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Sarawak director Adiman Ajem, National Film Development Corporation Malaysia Sarawak director Maffizan Saupie and former RTM director-general Datuk Norhyati Ismail.
