BINTULU: The residents of Rumah Emi Mesa in the Jepak constituency will soon enjoy improved amenities with the installation of four solar-powered streetlights and the construction of a 1.5 km paved road.

This project, executed under the 2024 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), aims to enhance road access and provide a more reliable energy source for the 18-door longhouse community.

According to Shahrezy Sulaiman, the Personal Assistant to the Jepak Assemblyman, the project carries a total cost of RM200,000 and forms part of the state government’s initiatives to elevate the standard of living in rural areas.

He emphasised that the development of this sustainable infrastructure underscores their dedication to the well-being of the local people.

“When completed this year, the 18-door longhouse community will benefit from improved roads and a more reliable energy source with the installation of solar-powered streetlights,” he remarked during his inspection of the project’s progress on Wednesday.
