MIRI: State secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, has called on civil servants to innovate in their roles to better serve the interests and needs of the public.

Speaking at a meeting with district officials and administrative officers for the Northern Zone here, he stressed the critical role of government employees in channeling information and realising the state’s vision.

He highlighted the importance of understanding the vision, mission, and policies introduced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.

He noted that civil servants must align with the three principles outlined in the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, namely, economic prosperity, social inclusion, and data innovation.

The meeting, aimed at ensuring the sustainability of a culture of innovation among state civil servants, provided a platform for district officials to voice their wishes and needs.

Abu Bakar reiterated the Sarawak government’s commitment to recognising the pivotal role of district officers in the state’s development.
