KUCHING: Viewer Farhana Roslan is thankful that Sarawak state-owned TV station, TVS (formerly TV Sarawak), can now be watched for free through myFreeview, a digital terrestrial television service provided free by the government to the people.
“I am glad it is now not limited to Astro customers only. Thank you to the government for making it easier for those who do not subscribe to Astro, like my parents, to watch this channel now for free.
“With the addition of TVS into myFreeview, viewers now have more varieties of shows to watch.
“Apart from TVS, you can also watch TV1, TV2, TV3, ntv7, 8TV, TV9, TV AlHijrah and Bernama News Channel on myFreeview,” added the 24-year-old.
Syarfina Safri, 29, said with the availability of TVS on myFreeview, viewers would have more programmes to watch.
“The viewers, including those in Malaya, can also now watch TVS and this will expose them more to Sarawak.
“As a Sarawakian, I admit that TVS shows really open my eyes about Sarawak,” she said. She hoped that TVS would also be as popular as other TV stations in the country.
Meanwhile, Nurul Ain Khalik said she was grateful because she could now enjoy TVS shows, which are suitable for people from all walks of life, for free.
“This initiative really helps the less fortunate to enjoy TVS programmes without being burdened with monthly fees,” added the 28-year-old.
Ahmad Syakir Hassim, 24, was impressed with the TVS shows which are related to business.
“I am very interested in the TVS segment which features the stories of successful Sarawakians in business. As an entrepreneur, I am also very inspired and motivated by those shows.
“Let us, Sarawakians, support TVS, so that it can stand on par with other TV stations in the country,” he said.
