KUCHING: Head of state’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib has been invited as a guest of honour to a tea banquet in conjunction with the 60th Sarawak Federation of Women Institutes (PPWS) diamond jubilee.
She was informed about the matter by Datuk Norhayati Mohd Ismail who led the PPWS delegation to visit her at Demak Jaya here yesterday.
Raghad who is also PPWS patron, was told of the launch of the PPWS 60 -Year Book and the Sarawak Traditional Healthy Recipes Book which would be one of the fillings at the event which is expected to be held on July 16, at the Waterfront Hotel, Kuching.
Established in 1962, PPWS now has 12,388 members comprising 352 groups throughout Sarawak.
The main role of PPWS is to guide women towards progress in various fields such as basic education, economics, standard of living and self -esteem.
Also present were PPWS vice chairman Aishah Edris, deputy chairman of PPWS Zainab Tambi, PPWS honorary secretary Siti Khatijah Othman and PPWS treasurer Kamariah Harmi.
