KUCHING: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will conduct integrated operations to curb the smuggling of subsidised cooking oil.

According to minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the subsidised cooking oil was for the needy but certain quarters had been making a profit from it.

“From January to June 29 this year, the ministry had confiscated RM1.613mil worth of subsidised cooking oil.

“During the same period, we also confiscated RM58,661 worth of bottled cooking oil, which is higher than last year (RM14,173),” he said on Facebook.

He added that enforcement would be enhanced in line with the establishment of the Pasukan Khas Jihad Tangani Inflasi.

“There will be no compromise for those who conspire and stern action, including the revoking of licenses, will be taken,” Nanta stressed.
