SIBU: More than 300 people in the Tanjung Penasu area here took part in a community integrity programme held at SK Tanjung Penasu yesterday.
The one-day programme was a collaborative effort between the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sibu branch, Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC), Sibu Information Department, Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia Sibu Branch, Petronas Dagangan Bhd and Maybank Central Sibu.
Various activities such as aerobic session, telematch, safety features in using LPG by Petronas, fire prevention briefing by Bomba and cake cooking competition were held for the participants.
There were also children’s coloring competition, integrity briefing by MACC, breast cancer awareness programme and a briefing on drug abuse given by the police Narcotics Unit.
The event aimed at strengthening ties between local folks, government agencies and the NGOs.
