KUCHING: Integrity is one of the key factors to the success of an organisation.
Compliance to rules and regulations is the other, says Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He was speaking at the opening ceremony of Brooke Dockyard’s Demak fabrication yard near here yesterday.
The 60-acre facility has a capability of fabricating 25,000 metric tonnes of oil and gas, and marine engineering modules annually.
Johari hoped that the facility would be one of the largest fabrication yards in the state and would deliver whatever task given to Brooke Dockyard.
Meanwhile, Brooke Dockyard chairman Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said the company’s success was due to its employees, numbering over 400 and consisting of 99 per cent Sarawakians.
“For over 22 years, Brooke Dockyard has provided employment opportunities to over 1,000 families, and it is honoured to be given such a privilege to contribute to the community.”
Brooke Dockyard has also made it into the Malaysian Book of Records as the first organisation to receive the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health Safety Management System under the scope ‘Fabrication of Structural Assembles and Modules for Oil and Gas Industries in Malaysia’.
Yesterday also saw the Borkor D substructure loadout ceremony and the completion of the Anjung topside by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.
