SRI AMAN: The just opened Sri Aman Multi-Level Interchange here will have a positive impact on the development of the division and its surrounding areas.

Infrastructure Development Deputy Minister Aidel Lariwoo said the interchange would provide convenience to the rural communities as well as other road users in terms of direct access to other areas.

“Apart from the interchange project which is a portion of the Pan Borneo Highway, a new road to link Sri Aman with Lidong in Betong would soon be developed,” he said.

“The Federal government has approved the Sri Aman-Lidong road through a rolling plan which will be executed in phases.

“The project which is located near Jalan Pasir Panas will continue to impact Sri Aman and Betong as well as boost the region and surrounding areas.”

He said this at the opening of the Sri Aman Multi-Level Interchange by Senior Minister of Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof today.

Aidel lauded Fadillah for his commitment to developing Sarawak, especially the Pan Borneo Highway which is nearing completion.

Although there are parts that are still being built, he said most of the Pan Borneo stretches have already been completed.

“We at the Sarawak government level are very grateful to Fadillah for ensuring the Pan Borneo Highway project becomes a reality.

“In fact, another major project, that is the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road, is also in the pipeline and this will also complement the Pan Borneo Highway.

“Soon, we will be able to travel from the Sabah border to other parts of Sarawak without having to go through Brunei,” he said.
