KUCHING: Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) appreciates the opportunity to partner with the Sarawak government in empowering the oil and gas sector in the state.
Its chief executive officer, Mohammad Salem Al Haimer said the company was ready to build a strong collaboration with Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (PETROS) to share expertise, technology, and investments, which were expected to have a positive impact on the local industry and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
“We, a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), are prepared to be a major contributor to PETROS’s vision,” he said.
He said this to reporters after paying a courtesy call to the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Astana Negeri Sarawak here today (May 24).
Mohammad Salem further affirmed that KUFPEC aims to add value through its experience and expertise to positively impact the local community and achieve mutual success in the state’s development.
Meanwhile, the delegation from KUFPEC also paid a courtesy call to the Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Mohammad Salem added the company remains committed to collaborating with Sarawak in the future.
“We are part of the biggest inspiration in Malaysian history, which is the Lang Lebah project.
“And I believe there is a big room for collaborations and more opportunities for Sarawak and KUFPEC. We are willing to continue and push and invest more,” he said.
He asserted that collaboration was a good opportunity that could bring a bright future for Sarawak and KUFPEC.
The KUFPEC delegation during the visit were its country manager Mohammad Al Sabti, senior advisor Datuk Seri Qamarul, Commercial and Marketing head Haidar Khadadeh, Strategic Planning advisor Ahmed Aoufi, and executive assistant Syed Emir Ashman.
