SIBU: A programme  entitled ‘Act! Voice Up, Women’ which was organised by the Human Resources Development Corporation (HRD Corp) was attended by 50 women held at Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) today.

The programme was held in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2024, celebrated by the whole world every year on March 8.

Dominica Divina Lyilan, HRD Corp human resource development officer said the programme emphasises the importance of diversity and empowerment to women in all aspects of society.

“At the same time, we want to close the gender gap, where we want to educate women that we are also capable of success like men,” she said.

The programme began with a lecture titled “I Love Myself,” delivered by Nurul Syakila Sharifdan, a representative from the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

The programme then continued with a talk from Skuad Aman Wanita PDRM Sibu (AMANITA) representative, titled “The Role of Women in Crime Prevention”.
