KUCHING: Families with missing members are urged to go to the nearest police station to facilitate investigation into the human skeleton found at Mile 11, FAC Road in Matang on Tuesday.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said police have yet to indentify the deceased. As such, all that could be deduced for now is that the remains were that of an adult. This was confirmed by forensic officers at Sarawak General Hospital’s mortuary.

“Padawan police are still searching for the family and/or friends of the deceased,” he said in a statement yesterday.

On Feb 25, a man who was searching for grass to feed his livestock (cows) stumbled upon a human skeleton at Jalan FAC at 11.12am. He quickly contacted the police.

Covering the skeleton was a shirt bearing the words ‘SIDMA Kolej Sarawak’.

Aidil pointed out that about 20 metres from the location, police found a pair of jeans, sports shoes, a jacket and a UiTM logo bag.
