KUCHING: Member of Parliament for Puncak Borneo, Willie Mongin launched the Ops Harapan on Sunday morning at Padawan District Police Headquarters.
Willie said the operation was launched to exercise more security checks in crime-prone areas in the effort to reduce crime.
Meanwhile Padawan District Police Deputy Chief, DSP Merbin Anak Lisa disclosed that Ops Harapan is a nationwide police exercise from July 1 to July 31 with the aim of reducing the crime rate as well as to establish closer tie between the police and the community. All police personnel at Padawan District Police Headquarters were in attendance during the launching ceremony.
