KUCHING: iSarawakCare has won the London Design Awards 2022 for the Digital Government Services category.
Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah announced the good news at a press conference held at Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) here today (Nov 30).
“It has gone through three rigorous jury exercises and on November 4, iSarawakCare was announced as the winner.
“From what I was told, this award is Sarawak and Malaysia’s first win in the London Design Awards 2022 for Digital Government Services.
“Among the past winners of the award are IBM (International Business Machines Corporation), Sony Pictures, Sydney Government Department of Justice, Vodafone and Spotify with the award ceremony being held in London on December 6, 2022,” Fatimah said.
Fatimah added that she was proud of the achievement as iSarawakCare was co-developed by a number of agencies including her ministry, Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), State Services Modernisation Unit (SSMU) and SOCOE.
“This is not an easy task as a few agencies have to come together to make this happen so I would like to congratulate the team for making this happen.
“Again, this is a huge achievement for us as it puts us on par with the aforementioned established international agencies in the world which shows that ‘Sarawak Boleh’ and we can not only make ripples but waves,” she added.
Meanwhile, during the press conference, Fatimah also witnessed a handover of duty from the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Dr Rashidah Bolhassan to the Executive Secretary of the Social Development Council Dr Zufar Yadi Brendan Abdullah who will be taking over the task as the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry until the end of the year.
