SIBU: Deputy Superintendent of Police Ismuni Umar is the new Julau District police chief, having taking over the post from his predecessor ASP Colony Kiai.

The handing over of duty took place today which saw DSP Ismuni, 45, receiving the duty file from ASP Colony. The ceremony was witnessed by an officer of the state police administration contingent Norzanah Buang.

Colony was the acting Julau District police chief for two months following the retirement of DSP Bidol Noyeng.

Ismuni was one of the officers at the state Narcotic Crime Investigation Department before his appointment as the Julau police chief.

He is from Spaoh, Betong and had served in Bintulu and Saratok.
