PETALING JAYA: Isuzu D-Max owners showcased their patriotic spirit by participating in the Isuzu Merdeka Convoy, part of the company’s initiative to celebrate Malaysia’s 67th Independence Day.
Around 3,300 participants with 900 Isuzu D-Max vehicles gathered at 36 Isuzu outlets nationwide, from Alor Setar to Keningau, before setting out on their respective convoys to various points of interest within their regions.
“Various activities were organised for participants to enjoy their Merdeka celebrations, including durian feasts, white water rafting, glamping, treasure hunts, picnics, and many more,” the company said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 3).
This year’s Isuzu Merdeka Convoy builds on the success of last year’s Merdeka Convoy 66, which saw participation from around 600 Isuzu D-Max vehicles.
As the largest simultaneous parade of Isuzu D-Max vehicles in the country, the convoy aimed to bring together owners to celebrate this significant date in Malaysia’s history.
“Following the success of the Merdeka Convoy 66, owners have expressed their satisfaction and eagerness to participate in similar events that foster camaraderie among Isuzu D-Max owners.
“We hope to continue developing such activities for our community,” said Isuzu Malaysia chief executive officer Shunsuke Okazoe.
Okazoe made these remarks when he flagged off the convoy at the Indah Utara outlet in Alor Setar, Kedah, where participants in 80 Isuzu D-Max vehicles headed to the Tasoh Lake Resort in Perlis to enjoy a scenic drive and a day filled with fun activities.
