KUCHING: A man, who had just finished serving a prison term on Sept 3, was in hot soup again.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Magistrates’ Court here for stealing a motorcycle on Sept 11.
The accused, Mohd Azlee Amin, 25, pleaded guilty to the charge read before judge Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali on Friday (Sept 17).
The accused committed the act on Sept 11 and he was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term up to five years and a fine, if convicted.
According to the facts of the case, the complainant reported to the police that his black Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle had gone missing from his residential block in Jalan Matang.
Police arrested the suspect on the same day and seized a motorcycle matching the complainant’s description without its registration number at Taman Malihah around 2.20pm.
Investigation confirmed that the motorcycle belonged to the complainant and the accused was also found to have just finished serving a prison sentence recently.
The accused was arrested under Section 411 of the Penal Code for theft.
The case was handled by prosecuting officer Insp Nur Syafiqa Nyaie llin while the accused was not represented.
