KUCHING: Sarawak Premier League team will face Kuching FA in a play-off match for a berth in the 2020 Premier League.
Kuching sealed the play-off ticket after defeating Glory United 1-0 in the M3 League match at the Sarawak Stadium on Tuesday night thanks to Hafiz Saperi’s 55th minute free-kick.With the win, they emerged as this year’s M3 League runners-up.
Kuching FA manager Ideris Untong was thrilled with the victory.
“Thank God, we got three important points. A lot of improvements have been shown by the players … just the scoring touch that still needs improvement.”
“We dominated the game, but some scoring chances just went to waste,” he said.
Before going down against Glory United, Kuching FA needed only two points to secure second place.
And now it was already achieved with two remaining matches. Their preparation now may be more towards the play-off.
However, the date and place of the match were yet to be determined.
Undoubtedly, the Kuching FA-Sarawak match will be very exciting, as it has never happened before.
