Sarawak head coach Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin said this win is significant for them as it marked a historic achievement for the team.

“In our previous tournaments, the best we managed was a bronze in the 2018 Sukma. Today’s achievement is historic for us,” she told reporters after the match.

Meanwhile, Awang Mohammad Sharszan acknowledged that while their initial goal was to win gold, they are still proud of their performance.

“This may not have been our original target, but we’re still proud of the result. We’re determined to perform even better in the upcoming matches,” he added.
