KUCHING: The Community Communications Department (J-KOM) is collaborating with the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) to ensure accurate public perceptions about the federal and Sarawak governments.
“J-KOM must grasp the actual circumstances in Sarawak, recognising that we are tasked with disseminating sensitive yet beneficial information,” said the director-general of J-KOM Mohd Khairuddin Othman.
He further stressed the importance of sensitivity, especially in Sarawak, guided by advice from Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“We will maintain close collaboration and exchange views with UKAS from time to time,” he told a press conference after making a courtesy call to the Premier at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
Also present during the courtesy call was Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information & UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol.
