SIBU: A woman, who worked as a cashier at a budget store here, was sentenced to two years’ jail and fined RM3,000 by the Magistrate’s Court yesterday for defrauding the company of RM2,842.
The accused, Hiddaya Abdul Rani, 25, from Daro pleaded guilty under Section 381 of the Penal Code for cheating.
According to the brief facts of the case, a supervisor of the company at about 4.28 pm on April 22, found that the shop’s sales money for April 1 was only RM8,314 compared to the actual amount of RM11,156.
The police investigation found that the accused had misappropriated RM2,824.
