KUCHING: Another suspect involved in the recent armed robbery at an eatery in Jalan Stutong here, was arrested on Thursday (Jan 26) evening.
The suspect was arrested around 7.30 pm by a special task force formed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Sarawak Contingent Police.
Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah told reporters that the suspect, aged 23, has past criminal records, including drug dealing and property theft.
“At the same time, we managed to seize the vehicle used in the robbery and other items related to our investigation,” he said after attending the COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Dose Programme orgainsed by the Ministry of Health (MoH), today (Jan 27).
He said the case is considered solved with the arrest of the two suspects.
The first suspect, believed to be the mastermind, was arrested at around 9.30 pm, on Thursday evening (Jan 26).
The 36-year-old suspect has seven past criminal records, including drug dealing and property theft.
Both suspects are now remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
