SIBU: Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman here will be upgraded as part of the Red Line project.
Bukit Assek Assemblyman revealed that the Senior Work Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof was currently looking into the matter.
“A few days ago, I talked to Datuk Seri Fadillah about the upgrading of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman as its condition is not very satisfactory.
“He said that the government had included it into the second phase of the Pan Borneo project.
“However, after Pakatan Harapan (PH) removed it after it took over the government,” he said.
Chieng added that Fadillah also informed him that the ministry had classified the airport road upgrading project as a Red Line project which would be upgraded according to the JKR standards.
“Red Line projects are roads that are connected to the Pan Borneo Highway,” he said.
Chieng also shared that the matter had been discussed in the Cabinet.
“So, it is very good news for people in Sibu as it will upgrade our airport road (Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman),” he said.
