KAPIT: Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat recently officiated at the Kapit Tai Chi Association New Year Fellowship Gathering and Office Bearers’ Installation Ceremony here.
Speaking at the function Jamit congratulated the new board of committees of Kapit Tai Chi Association on their appointment. He was happy to note that the committee is a blend of the young and old and many of them are his childhood friends.
He was happy to note that the biennial election of the new office bearers and the process of handing over duty from the outgoing committee to the newly elected committee ran smoothly adding that this reflected the maturity and readiness of the members to serve when required.
Jamit noted that Kapit Tai Chi Association is one of the many associations in town.
“Kapit has many associations and clubs. Some sports, others belong to clans like Foochow, Chiang Chuan or Kwang Tung. To me, all the associations and clubs are relevant in our society. You have your role to play looking after the members’ social welfare,” he said.
“On my part, I am committed to serving my constituency N 63 Bukit Goram. As long as I am your representative I will be with you and support your activities.”
On the MRP grant he said he had allocated grants to associations or clubs to support their activities.
“I will continue to support your activities because I appreciate the many associations and clubs here are complementing government efforts to look after their members,” said Jamit.
