Speaking at the function Jamit said the grant was to reciprocate the strong support given by the people. “You have elected me to be your elected representative and today it is the time for me to pay back and to serve you for the five-years term,” Jamit said and pledged that he would try his very best to serve his constituents.

He added that he would make every effort to attend any function organised by the JKKK in the longhouse in rural setting, school parents-teachers’ association (PTA), activity runs by the NGOs in town or by the government.

“It’s important for me to meet the grass roots that could serve as a platform for me to deliver the government policy and at the same time to receive information on the needs of the people,” said Jamit.

On the grant Jamit advised the recipients to tell their JKKK committees and members that the cheque has been banked into the account. He also stressed on the importance to keep the proper record of the grant spent where a copy of the working paper needed to be submitted to his service centre at N 63 Bukit Goram BN Service Centre for filing. He added that this is the requirement and hoped all recipients to comply with the new ruling.
