BINTULU: Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia Takahashi Katsuhiko arrived here yesterday as part of his two-day official visit to Sarawak.
Takahashi and his entourage toured the Petronas liquefied natural gas (LNG) complex in Tanjang Kidurong where they were briefed on the establishment of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) and on safety aspects at the company’s plant.
Next, Takahashi was taken on a tour of the plant area for a first-hand observation.
Later, met by reporters, he hoped that cooperation between Japan and Malaysia, including Petronas, would continue for mutual economic prosperity.
He thanked Bintulu Division Resident Nyurak Keti and Petronas for their warm welcome.
After the Petronas LNG complex tour, Takahashi and his entourage were taken on a tour of Tanjung Batu Beach before leaving for Bintulu Airport to board a flight back to Kuching last night.
