KOTA SAMARAHAN: Japanese Professor Tatsuhiro Ohkubo from Utsunomiya University visited the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) as part of the international exchange programme between the two universities here recently.
Tatsuhiro’s visit was in conjunction with the student mobility programme, ‘EduTour2023’, in which he accompanied students from Utsunomiya University participating in the programme.
The students will be participating in the programme for two weeks while undergoing English language learning through the Faculty of Language and Communications (FLC), UNIMAS.
In addition, Tatsuhiro‘s visit was also a continuation of the ongoing discussions on potential collaborations between Jichi Medical University and FMHS, in which he has been facilitating.
The potential collaboration was initiated in May 2022, when UNIMAS’ deputy vice-chancellor Academic and International Prof Ahmad Hata Rasit and Faculty Dean Prof Dr Asri Said were in Japan to sign the memorandum of agreement with Chiba Paediatric Orthopaedic Group (CPOG).
During his visit here, Tatsuhiro was also given a comprehensive tour of the faculty and its facilities, including the Anatomy Museum where he was given a demonstration on Anatomage, a state-of-the-art system utilised by the faculty to enhance the teaching of anatomy to medical students.
