KUCHING: Deputy State Secretary Datuk Jaul Samion has been appointed as the acting Sarawak State Secretary. He takes over from State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, 63, who will be retiring in August.
Morshidi has held the post since August 4 2009 Jaul, an Iban, will be the eighth State Secretary. Morshidi who will be going on retirement leave, handed over his duties to Jaul on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing congratulated Jaul on his appointment.
“With Jaul’s long years of service in various ministries, including the Ministry of Land Development and Ministry of Industries, he will bring in his experience and skills into the office and continue the good work by Morshidi,” he said.
The handing over of duties is a smooth transition of authority. “I wish Datuk Jaul all the best and May God bless and guide him in his work,” said Masing.
