KUCHING: Junior Chambers International (JCI) is an avenue for young people to have a positive impact on the community.
In stating this Padawan Municipal Council chairman Lo Khere Chiang urged the JCI members to therefore put much emphasis on teaching and learning entrepreneurship.
“This is very important because they have the potential to improve and take the community’s economy to greater and newer heights,” he said at the JCI Damai 35th Installation and Award Ceremony here on Sunday (Feb 26).
“It is very encouraging to see a group of young people like yourselves take up the reins of such important roles of responsibility and I am glad to see JCI Damai marching as one organisation in this direction.”
Lo hoped that JCI Damai would make an even bigger contribution to the community and make positive changes in the community.
The JCI Damai 25th Installation and Award Ceremony for the year 2023 saw Susananne Lee taking over as president from Letoyah Ding.
Lee will be joined by her team, Mighty Chin, Karen Sim, Roy Tiong, Vivizona Lee, Dalton Yeo, Kelby Tan, Jim Oui, Sean Wong, Letoyah Ding and Janice Lai.
The event was attended by some 60 JCI members Kuching and the state.
