KUCHING: Nine members of JCI Damai, a prominent chapter of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) organisation, participated in the recent JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak Family Day.
The event, held with the primary objective of fostering strong bonds within the JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak member community, witnessed the enthusiastic engagement of JCI Damai members, contributing to the overall success of the event.
“The JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak Family Day held on Aug 19 to 20 brought together JCI members from various chapters across Sarawak to strengthen camaraderie, exchange ideas, and enhance collaborative efforts.
“This year’s event was particularly significant as nine members from JCI Damai participated with fervor, showcasing their commitment to the spirit of unity within the JCI community.
“Among the highlights of the event was the recognition of JCI Damai for their outstanding contributions and achievements. JCI Damai took home four prestigious awards, a testament to the chapter’s dedication, innovation, and impactful projects that have positively influenced the local community,” it said in a press statement on Tuesday (Aug 22).
The receiver of the Most Inspiring Local President award was Susananne Lee; Mighty Chin for the Most Inspiring Area Officer Award; Victor Tan for Most Outstanding Area Officer Award and Sean Wong for Active New Member award.
JCI Damai also announced that their member Selice Chia was awarded the Pearl Women Entrepreneur Awards under the Best Digital Marketing category in Penang.
“We are delighted to witness the active involvement of our JCI Damai members in the JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak Family Day. Participating in such events not only allows us to connect with fellow JCI members but also demonstrates our commitment to the values and objectives of JCI.
“Furthermore, receiving four awards serves as an inspiration for us to continue our efforts in creating positive change,” Susananne said.
She also said JCI Damai continues to demonstrate its commitment to community development, leadership, and collaboration, aligning with the mission of JCI on a global scale.
