KUCHING: The Junior Chamber International (JCI) is an ideal platform for the youth to enhance their skills, broaden their horizons, and ignite their leadership potential.
In stating this, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng pointed out that JCI has a strong emphasis on individual, business, community, and international cooperation.
“Therefore, by joining JCI, young individuals can gain exposure to various training programmes, networking opportunities, and community initiatives that empower them to make a meaningful difference.
“JCI provides a supportive environment for young leaders to explore their passions, discover their strengths, and unleash their creativity,” he said.
He said this when attending JCI Damai’s 35th anniversary, representing Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, at the Grand Riverine Ballroom by Lok Thian here last night (June 24).
Adding on, he stated that through JCI, the youth can learn essential skills such as effective communication and problem-solving, which are vital in today’s rapidly evolving world.
Moreover, he said, by maintaining a good sisterhood relationship with JCI Seoul Gwanak and signing a new friendship pact with JCI Entrepreneur, it also opens doors to a vast network of like-minded individuals, both locally and internationally.
“Through this sisterhood with JCI Seoul Gwanak, JCI Damai has the privilege of sharing experiences, ideas, and best practises, which enables members to promote goodwill and attain a deeper understanding of the global challenges of tomorrow.
“This collaboration strengthens their collective impact and enables them to create positive change on a global scale,” he said.
Meanwhile, Wee also noted that through brotherhood with JCI Entrepreneur, members of JCI Damai certainly benefit in terms of networking and business skills to promote business development, especially in Sarawak.
“I certainly look forward to the impact brought along by our future leaders here. As such, I encourage you to continue to embrace the opportunities offered by JCI.
“The skills and experiences gained through JCI will not only benefit your personal growth but will also enable you to contribute meaningfully to society.
“Together, let us inspire and empower the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of our communities, our nation, and our world,” he added.
