KUCHING: Volleyball prodigy Jeremy Aaron Naiker is set to make a mark at the 2024 YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian Volleyball Championship Kuching Open, marking his debut in a major competition beyond the university circuit.
Representing Chung Hua Volleyball Team (CHVBT), the 17-year-old is eager to test himself against some of Sarawak’s top volleyball talents’ in what promises to be a highly competitive tournament.
The tournament will take place from November 27 to Dec 1 at the Multipurpose Hall of SJK Chung Hua Kim Choo Seng.
This event marks a key milestone in Jeremy’s career as he steps up to face seasoned players from a higher level of playfield.
“This will be my first competition outside university, and I’m expecting it to be much more competitive.
“It’s also thrilling because I’ll have the opportunity to meet some of the star players in Sarawak.” he told Sarawak Tribune recently.
Standing at six feet tall, Jeremy brings a blend of Indian, Chinese, and Lun Bawang heritage to the court, and is keen to represent his community on this prominent stage.
Jeremy’s excitement is palpable, especially as the tournament will feature a full squad for CHVBT.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said, adding that the competitive nature of the event will push him to improve.
With his skill, determination, and eagerness to learn, Jeremy is ready to make a significant impact and gain invaluable experience that will shape his future in the sport.
