MUKAH: About thirty people consisting of ten members of the UiTM Mukah staff and the residents of Kampung Tellian carried out joint work to clean the Kaul jetty of Kampung Tellian yesterday morning.
The gotong-royong activity organised by the Mukah Kaul Standing Committee chaired by Penghulu Juana Lupieh was held in preparation for the Kaul Kakan Serahang celebration which will take place on Mar 11.
When met at the gotong-royong site here, Juana expressed deepest appreciation and thanks to the UiTM Mukah team led by Juriah Jafar for their willingness to join Tellian villagers in the gotong-royong programme to clean the village kaul jetty in preparation for Kaul Serahaeng Kakan which will take place next Saturday.
He added that the Kaul Mukah Standing Committee will make the coming Kaul Serahang Kakan a success which will give an opportunity to all local residents and foreign tourists to come in large numbers to participate in making it fun.
“The theme of the Kaul Mukah 2023 is “Nothing As Unique” and the opening ceremony of the Kaul Mukah 2023 will be attended by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on April 29. Meanwhile, the Keman Kaul and Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri will be held on April 30.
“The activities that will be held throughout Kaul Mukah 2023 are Keman Kaul, Teuwaih Jinih Competition, Bidar Lukut Race, People’s Sports, Tibow Competition and Games, Serahang Kakan Workshop, Iseak A Melanau, People’s Sports and many more.
