SIBU: The Kampung Kong Yit Khim village development and security committee (JKKK) donated 100 boxes of face masks to the Lanang police station here last weekend.

The donation was presented by its chairman Theng Swee Ming, who said it was to show their appreciation to police personnel for their role as frontliners in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

He explained that the contribution was to facilitate roadblocks conducted around Sibu area.

“Hopefully, with the donations given, we can help our frontliners in curbing the spread of Covid-19 here.

“I hope more non-governmental organisations (NGOs) out there will come forward to appreciate our frontliners,” he said.

Also present at the ceremony was Kampung Kong Yit Khim JKKK advisor Penghulu Teng Kim Loong.
