SERIAN: The Sibala Tarat village development and security committee (JKKK) has set up a charity fund to provide financial aid for the villagers.

The charity fund was launched by Assistant Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn at a charity and welfare dinner at Sibala Tarat Village Hall on Saturday.

“The proceeds from this charity will greatly ease the burden of the villagers in terms of health, education and more,” he said at the event.

Roland, who is also Tarat assemblyman, advised the villagers of Sibala Tarat to expedite the process of applying for customary land titles (NCR) in the village.

He explained the land titles would ease the process for villagers to cultivate their land for agricultural produce.

He added Sibala Tarat residents could sell their crops to the Tarat Collection, Processing, and Packaging Centre (CPPC) to supplement their income.

Thus, Roland encouraged the residents of Sibala Tarat to cultivate their land with agricultural produce and sell it for additional side incomes.
