BALINGIAN: Twenty-eight Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) here were given grants totalling RM28,000.
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi presented the cheques to the JKKK chairman from each village.
Meanwhile, he advised folk here not to take the Covid-19 pandemic lightly, adding: “The Ketua Masyarakat and Ketua Kaum (KMKK) also need to play a role in reminding the people of the need to get vaccinated.”
The 28 JKKKs that received the grant are from Kampung Sittieng, Kampung TEH Labak, Kampung Masjid Balingian, Pasar Balingian, Sungai Alo Resettlement Scheme, Kampung Suyong, Kampung Sau, Kampung Pulat, Kampung Sungai Alo, Kampung Tutus Ulu, Sungai Tega, Kampung Sungai Ragei, Kampung Tutus Hilir, Kampung THE and Kampung Bedanga Ulu.
The rest are Kampung Penakub Bazaar, Kampung Jebungan, Kampung Baru, Kampung Bunut, Kampung Mateding Kecil, Kampung Penipah, Kampung Tanjung, Kampung Kuala Balingian, Kampung Lintang, Kampung Litong, Kampung Penakub Ulu and Kampung Sesok Baru.
