MIRI: Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin praised the Public Works Department (JKR) Miri Division for their swift response to his request to set up safety measures following several landslides along the Miri-Marudi road.
Within 24 hours of receiving Lee’s request, JKR Miri Division has set up barricades and tarpaulins at the affected areas.
Lee praised Miri divisional engineer Chong Chi Fam and his team for their swift action after receiving his request.
The Senadin assemblyman also reminded road users to pay extra caution when using the Miri-Marudi road while waiting for repair works to be carried out.
On Jan 28, a landslide was reported nearby the entrance of Rumah Lambor following heavy rain and several other landslides that occurred along the Miri-Marudi road.
