SRI AMAN: Narcotics police arrested two unemployed locals for alleged involvement in substance abuse yesterday (Sept 11).

Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the male suspects, aged 21 and 24, were picked up during a morning raid around Simanggang town.

“The team encountered two men in a suspicious condition and arrested them on suspicion of being involved in substance abuse activities.

“Urine screening tests conducted on both men came back positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.

Both men are being held at Sri Aman police lock-up for further investigation.

Mathew added that the case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
