SIBU: An unemployed man was nabbed on suspicion of being involved in substance abuse last Thursday evening (Aug 27)
District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit who confirmed the arrest, said that the man was found inside a four-wheel drive vehicle in a parking lot at Jalan Hulu Layang around 6.15pm.
“In the back seat of the vehicle police seized four plastic packages kept inside a pink plastic container, a digital weighing device and RM57,427 in cash.
“The man in his 50s was arrested and taken to the police station for further investigation,” he said in a statement.
Stanley added that the man had also been involved in six drug-related cases prior to the arrest.
The case will be investigated under Section 39 (B) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
