MIRI: A jobless man was detained by police after he was found in possession of drugs during a raid on a house in Krokop here last Saturday afternoon.
The 1.30pm raid was carried out by anti-narcotics police from State Police Contingent Headquarters.
State Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) chief, Superintendent Sahar Abdul Latif said during the raid, the 23-year-old surrendered a sling bag to the police.
“While checking the sling bag, police found 33 packets of crystalline substance believed to be syabu, with an estimated weight of 11.80 grammes, stuffed in a cigarette pack.
“The estimated value of the drugs is RM3,304,” he said when contacted here.
Sahar said the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and was detained to facilitate investigation under Section 39 A (1) and 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
