KUCHING: An unemployed man was arrested on suspicion of involvement in substance abuse on Thursday (Aug 20).
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said that narcotics police raided a house at Mile 9, Jalan Matang here around 11am and was greeted by the 30-year old man.
“The team searched the house and came across a plastic packet containing crystalline suspected to be syabu inside a cigarette packet.
“The man was placed under arrest and police sized the drugs, weighing about 0.30g,” he said in a statement.
Aidil said the man, who tested positive for drugs, admitted to taking drugs since 2018 and claimed he was not involved in drug pushing.
The man will be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
