BINTULU: An unemployed youth was nabbed by police for possessing 5.2g of drugs suspected to be syabu or methamphetamine on Friday (Sept 25).

District police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili pointed out that the 19-year-old man was arrested by the narcotics police team in a house at Jalan Masjid, here.

He noted that the operation was carried out around 11.30am where inspections were conducted.

“As a result, the raiding team found a transparent plastic packet and a cut straw containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu, weighing around 5.2g and worth RM800,” he said in a statement.

The male suspect, who was tested positive for drugs, was taken to the police station for further actions.

Zulkipli said the case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
